First is my exclusive angel wing necklaces! I am very excited about this new product! These angels wings are created from my own hand drawn template that my wonderful tool maker created into what is called a blanking die. I recently purchased a Jewelry press from a wonderful shop, Press It! Jewelry Press and I am now creating all my own shapes! The angel wing is just one many new and exclusive designs that I will be adding to my shop.
These are available in sterling silver, gold filled, copper and brass.

I have also started adding some beautiful designs for the holidays. My Holiday Pea Pod necklace with snowflake charm is just gorgeous! And of course my sterling silver snowflake earrings are the perfect accessory for all your holiday outfits!

Hand Stamped Necklaces

I have been so busy lately (though I am by no means complaining) that I have not had time to add my new hand stamped necklaces and bracelets :) With Mother's Day past, I finally got a chance.

This first necklace is a Double Washer Necklace, which is perfect for Moms or Grandmothers with large families.

This necklace is one I made for my Mother for Mother's Day (She LOVED it by the way). It features a heart shape cut out in the center of a one inch round pendant. The one shown is hand stamped with a saying I thought befitting for my Mom, as all her children are now grown and out of the home.

Both necklaces were stamped using my new lowercase handwritten font.
As with all my jewelry, these can be stamped with your own personal inscription.

New in Shop ~ Natural Stone Cabochon Rings

I LOVE Rings!! I Love making them too. My favorite type of ring is the cabochon rings. I love all the different cabochons I come across. I do however only like natural cabochons. Sapphires, Amethysts, Quartz, Garnet, Topaz, Chalcedony, you see what I mean. So this past weekend I made a few experimenting with different types of hand made ring bands. My absolute favorite is the Lemon Quartz Ring on the left hand side. With the serrated bezel cup it reminds of a spring flower. When the sun hits it, it just illuminates! I have been wearing it for the past two days and I just love it! So, if you want one, I'll have to make you your own, 'cause this ones mine! :)

The cabochon shown is a 6mm Lemon Quartz, but I have other cabochons for you to choose from, so you can totally customize your own ring. The ring in the center is a one of a kind as I will not be making this type of ring band again. It is actually really cool. The sides of the band are lightly hammered and it gives it a diamond type sparkle to it, while the top outside of the band has a brushed finish. The two finishes contrast beautifully with each other and the stone, a faceted Melanite Garnet bezel set in sterling silver is stunning. The pictures do not do these rings justice.
This ring is only available in my Etsy shop and like I said, I made only one and it is a US size 9. I do have more of the Melanite Garnet though!

Last, but certainly not least is the ever so lovely natural Violet Iolite Ring. This gorgeous cabochon is set in a sterling silver serrated bezel and sits atop a 3mm x 1mm sterling silver band. The cabochon in this ring is a 4mm round natural stone. I have other 4mm cabochons available as well, so this ring can be custom made with the stone of your choice.

I have so many new designs and fun stuff happening, but it feels like it's taking me forever to get everything listed. The shops have been busy this month (and I am in no way complaining :) ) and between creating orders and new designs, there just doesn't seem to be enough time in a day to get everything done. But I have been able to finally finish and list a few new designs for my shop!! First is the baby/toddler/child hand stamped bracelet. It is available for any age from infant to teen, as I will custom make anything in your size :). Also new to the shop is the La Petite Necklaces. I love these little babies! Boy oh Boy, I have finally received a lot of the designs stamps I ordered including the new wing designs and the male/female gender symbols. Charitable Creations Jewelry now has over 50 design stamps (54 to be exact) for you to choose from, plus all 12 zodiac signs!

The new Mommy to Be necklace features my new gender symbols. A little twist on the baby feet version. Sometimes we just like to be different from than rest!

My favorite is the new Best Friends/Friends Forever necklaces. These are sold as pairs, one for you and one for your best friend of course. These are also great for sisters too. And as always these can be customized to reflect your own special personalities! I hand stamped each necklace with my new wing designs (one left, one right). Another little twist to the normal, everybody has them, split disc necklaces! (Not that those are not great as well) :)

And for the fellas and ladies too....a lot of new design versions and options for the sterling silver guitar picks. These make great gifts for the music lovers and rockers out there!

New Childrens Section added to the Shop!

I always read what my customers or commenters from my giveaways both here and on other blogs have to say about what they think of Charitable Creations. Lately I have been reading a lot of comments stating that I should offer jewelry for children. So..guess what...That's what I'm doing!

Today I started the children section in both my Main Shop and Etsy shop. Over the next week I will be adding more items including hand stamped bracelets. I will be keeping it to necklaces and bracelets at the moment, but as always, anything I design can be made in any size, big or small. I will always do my absolute best to accommodate the needs and wants of my customers when designing their special piece.

Right now most of the items are for girls, but worry you should not as I am a mother with two sons and two stepsons so there will be items added for the boys. :)

Also, I have a lot of new toys coming in for me to play with and I will be adding some new and exciting designs soon for the whole family!

For hand stamped jewelry I have at the moment 41 different design stamps with 26 more on the way, so there is a very large variety of designs to choose from when creating a hand stamped piece!

Well I am off to pick the boys up from school, that is all for now, but as always you all will be the first to know when something new is happening!

We got MORE SNOW today and the plow broke...hubby was not happy!

I love snow. And that's a good thing for me, because where I live, once we get our first snow, it stays until spring. I live in North Central Massachusetts. I have lived here for about five years. I was born and raised in Cape Cod Massachusetts, so I will admit I do miss the ocean. But all my family is still on the Cape, so I visit often.

So back to the snow. Last night it snowed here again and we got a few inches of wet heavy snow. (The pictures above were taken today of my back yard.) Well we have a huge driveway and my better half uses our old John Deer tractor to plow it. The snow was so heavy that it broke the plow. Needless to say the hubby was not a happy camper!! The poor guy had to finish shoveling a 15 car driveway by himself! Of course all the boys were at friends houses and well I would of helped, but when hubby is in one of his moods, it's better to just let him be. lol It' s not as bad as its sounds, luckily he was almost done when it broke, so it only took about 15 minutes for him to finish it.

The one who is most heartbroken over the plow breaking is our little guy Toby (our Bichon Frise). Every time we plow the driveway he runs outside and waits by the fence for the snow to come flying over so he can run through it! He absolutely LOVES to have the snow falling over him! It is the funniest thing. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a picture of the snow flying over the fence, but I did capture one of Toby sniffing around the new snow near the fence.

Well we are expecting more snow on Thursday, so maybe I can catch the little guy in the act of snow chasing then!

First, I have added two new necklaces to the shop. On the left we have an African turquoise briolette as the focal pendant that hangs from a sterling silver chain with little freshwater pearls.

Copper Cuff Bracelets said to help with Arthritis - New in Shop

I have been wanting to create these for a while now, but with the holidays and everything it kind of kept getting pushed to the back of the line. I made the one that is hand stamped with the word BELIEVE for my mother. She asked me the other day if I was going to make any because she heard that they helped with arthritis pain. My mother has arthritis as well as fibromyalga (I think that is how it is spelled) and she is always looking for ways to ease the discomfort with taking pills. So when she asked, I immediately made one and I must say I love these!

I wanted to make sure that it would be durable enough to be worn everyday while doing your everyday errands and what have you, but at the same time be comfortable to wear all day too. For this style I chose to use thick 16 gauge copper with a 1/2" width. It is very durable so it will withstand constant wear and yet it is still light. I made the hammered copper bracelet for myself, because lets get real here, I LOVE JEWELRY, that's why I'm a jewelry artist :) I have been wearing mine since this morning and it is very comfortable. I hardly feel like I have it on. As for whether or not it helps in relieving arthritis pain, well I'll have to wait and see what my mother says. I did do some research on it though and it is said that the Ancient Egyptians wore copper bracelets for arthritis. How they know that, I do not know, but I will keep you posted on what mother thinks about it.

Both of these bracelets can be personalized with up to 60 characters, so if you have a favorite quote, saying or even part of a song lyric that you like, I can fit it on these babies! They are currently for sale in both my shops for $25 and until January 10th if spend $50 or more you will receive 20% off your order!! Of course as always 10% will also be donated to a charity of your choice.

In the next week or two I will be adding a wider copper cuff design to the shop and I'll make sure you are all the first to know!

The first is our Autism Awareness Hope Hand Stamped Necklace. 10% from the sales of this necklace will be donated to AutismSpeaks.org.

I will be adding more awareness necklaces to the shop in the new year. I am in the process of researching many different diseases and disorders, especially in children and will be designing necklaces that help raise awareness for each one.

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....

well sort of! There is about 8 inches of snow on the ground, so it looks all white Christmas like outside, but inside is a different story. We put our tree up a week ago, which is a fake pre-lit tree. Well needless to say we have all been so busy that our poor tree still has no decorations on it! Just lights! And if I had my way and had a real tree, it probably wouldn't of had that! Fortunately my shop has been busy the last week or so and I have been locked away in my studio filling orders, while my tree remains lacking of Christmas bulbs and garland.

This is the first year that I have not had a fully decorated tree and home by now. I love the holidays, but this year with the new shop, I have been busier than I usually am. So, tonight I AM decorating the tree! There is only 12 days til Christmas after all!

Working on some new items!

I love all kinds of jewelry, which is good since that is what I do for a living lol. But my favorite piece of jewelry has always been rings. I just love rings. So the last few days I have been working on some new rings to add to the shop.

Ever since I got over my fear of fire and started using a torch to solder, I have been like a soldering crazy person. I just love all the possibilities when you can fuse things together! I have started simple though, because well my style is simple and when i design something new, I like to wear it for a while to make sure that is worthy for my customers. I want to make sure that it stands up to everyday life and more. Lets face it as women most of us have busy lives, running around doing what we need to do and I always make sure that my jewelry will stand up to what we throw at it before I offer it for sale.

With that being said, I recently added to my shop new hand stamped rings. The one pictured was actually made for my brother in law. He likes skulls lol. Let me just tell you that these rings will stand up to anything! You could probably run the sucker over and not damage it! At the same time though, my brother in law says that it is very comfortable to wear.

I make these rings with a sterling silver wire that is 5mm wide and 2mm thick. They are completely hand made and I DO NOT buy them pre-made. I will admit I did look into it as it would of been easier to just buy them already made and then hand stamp them, but to me that kind of takes the whole hand made out of ....well hand made! Plus you can only buy them in certain sizes and by making them myself, I am able to offer them in any size. Plus, I like using my soldering torch!

These new hand stamped rings can personalized with names, a favorite saying or however your little heart desires. The second picture is of one I made using my textured hammer. I will be listing in my shop tomorrow and this one i will naming the 'Tree Bark Ring'. Every time I look at it it reminds me of tree bark! A total one of a kind ring. I can make more, but each one will have a slightly different look.

In the next day or two I will also be adding some more rings, including birthstone rings and stacking rings.
As always I will post about when I do.

Some New Items.....

I have added some new items to my shop recently. The first two were created for my sisters. I have two younger sisters and as I am writing this it occurs to me that I need to head to my studio tonight and create another one, one that signifies a big and little sister. We can't leave out the middle child who is actually both a big sister and a little sister. The middle child deals with enough as I know mine has. Being bossed around from the big sister and nagged to death from the little one! ****Well...I apologize for interrupting this post to bring you an emergency design announcement! Now back to your regularly schedule post.****

I have come across a lot of mothers and grandmothers who have more than 3 children and I didn't have much in my shop that would accommodate more than 3 - 4 names, so I added a 4 layered disc necklace to my hand stamped collection. The one pictured features sizes ranging from 1/2 in - 7/8 in. and has four names hand stamped. It can however be personalized with up to 7 short names. I love this necklace and was really happy with the way it turned out. Also new to my hand stamped collection is the big sis and little sister necklaces. (You know the emergency design announcement). If you haven't visited my shop lately, I have a lot of great personalized items that make wonderful gifts, many for $20 or less.

The Holidays, The Business, The Family, Oh My! Tips on Juggling Your Life

As the owner of my own business and a mother of four, the holidays brings not only joy but well one more thing to juggle. Now I am by no means an expert, but I compiled a list, I've checked (most of) them twice and I'll share with you what helps keep my life nice.

First and most importantly organize, organize, organize!!!! Between sports practices, school events and the kids other activities, the calendar is my best friend. Actually I have two. One for the family activities and events and one for my business. It is important to keep them separate because it will get confusing...fast. Plus there just isn't enough space in those little boxes to write down everything you need to do! lol

Secondly and this is an extension of the first...make a daily schedule. Write down things you need or want to do for the day. This is good for both family and business. It helps keep things in check and keeps you productive.

Last but certainly not least......You Must Schedule "YOU TIME" everyday!!!! It doesn't matter if its 10 minutes or an hour, you need to take a break from it all and do something that is relaxing and mind clearing. For me, when it's nice outside, I take a cup of coffee and a good magazine and sit out on my deck. Other times I might just sit in my livingroom and catch a good thirty minute show on TV. Whatever it is that relaxes you, just do it, it is the key to staying sane through the holidays. Well that and doing all your holiday shopping online...like at Etsy!!!

We're getting a new look!

My shop that is! I have always been one of those people that always feels that there is room for improvement in almost everything. Well I have definitely been having that feeling when it comes to my online shop. So over the past few weeks I have been working on a whole new look for the shop! I will be moving from Pro-stores over to Pappashops. My prostores shop is just too plain for my taste. And there was a lot of things that I wanted to offer that I can not with my current shop. Pappashops will allow me to offer a much better shopping experience for my customers as well as a great new look.

The new shop should be live the first week of November. Same web address, so be sure to stop by in a few weeks and let me know what you think! A few of the new features will be a guestbook, so visitors and customers can leave their thoughts about the new site, as well as feedback on their shopping experience and/or jewelry that they have purchased. Their will be a section for events, that will list all the upcoming and current giveaways for the shop and much more.

My First Sale!! I am so excited!

I sold my first piece of jewelry through my Etsy shop yesterday! I was so excited when I got the email. I have only been selling on Etsy for about 2 months, well trying to sell, until yesterday. I spent the last 3 days updating all the images of my jewelry on both my sites and it looks like it paid off. Hopefully there will be more sales to come!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and as many of you know, Charitable Creations donates 10% of our sales year round to many charities and causes.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, from Oct. 1st through the 31st, I will be donating 15% from select items in my Etsy Shop, to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is an independent 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increasing public awareness about good breast health. 

It is estimated by the American Cancer Society that in 2009 about 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed among women in the United States. At this time there are about 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. 

In 2009, ACS estimates that about 40,170 women will die from breast cancer in the United States. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, exceeded only by lung cancer. 

In men, 1,910 new cases are projected in 2009, with 440 deaths. 

Help us raise funds for Breast Cancer research and many other important causes and charities.

Revamping all the pictures on both my shops

Over the next few weeks I am going to do my best to take better photos of my jewelry. I realize that when you are purchasing something over the internet, especially jewelry, you need to have very detailed clear photos. I have been struggling with this because unfortunately my camera is not the greatest, but I will be purchasing a new camera next week that will hopefully do the trick.

During the next few weeks, I will also be designing some new pieces for my Fall Collection. Adding some copper and bronze pieces.

Hopefully, I will be able to get this photography issue solved soon, so there will clearer, more detailed photos on my shops.

and I don't mean designing jewelry. I love making my jewelry for the shop. I'm the only female in a house of four males, so designing my jewelry is actually very relaxing and fun for me. It's my girl time! I take great pride in my work and hope that it shows to potential customers. (I say potential because I have not made a sale yet).

What is not easy is trying to market my shop and get it out into this big big world of cyberspace! That and getting really good pictures of my jewelry. I always thought I was a pretty good picture taker (lol), but sometimes it drives me nuts, because I can see how great the piece really is and my pictures do not do them justice!

These are my latest pictures of the jewelry I just finished and listed today.

If anyone out there has any tips on how to take better pics and maybe even some marketing pointers, I'm all ears! :)

Well, enough whining, I agree!

On to more important issues. I will be launching my Fall Collection soon and I am thinking of adding some bronze and copper to the mix. I LOVE Silver, but I really like the look of Bronze and Copper, it reminds me of the Fall Season. Of course I will still be designing silver jewelry as well, but I like to stir things up. Maybe even mix some of them together.

Along with the Fall Collection, I will also be adding some Holiday Jewelry, children designs and Wedding Jewelry as well.

Newly Listed at Charitable Creations Jewelry

I finally finished some of my pieces I have been working on and I must say I am very happy with the results.
The Red Jasper Bangle Bracelet is my absolute favorite. The picture really does not do it justice! The necklace is created from Hematite and Pink Opal. I love this one too!! A sterling silver hammered and domed disc hangs as the focal point. I love the pink and black colors with the silver, it is very eye catching. Last but certainly not least is the simple and elegant timeless classic pearl earrings. A Swarovski Creamrose pearl hangs by a sterling silver wire wrapped ear wire.

New Silver Jewelry Designs

So much to do, So Little Time

Well, between 3 blogs, running a business and making jewelry, sometimes I wonder where the time goes. I have been in front of my computer since 10 am and it is now past 9 pm! But I have to admit, I Love every minute of it!

Just listed more Hand Stamped Jewelry today on our Etsy shop. I was having fun with the new sizes of letter stamps I received today, so I will be listing more tomorrow too. I have some new fonts coming soon that I can't wait to try. I just love making jewelry.

Well, sorry this is so short but I think 12 hours is a long enough work day lol!

Sterling Silver Choker with Carlenian or Tourmalated Quartz

NEW CHOKER NECKLACES JUST LISTED!!

I have been waiting a few weeks for these gorgeous gems to arrive. They are so beautiful, these pictures really do not do them justice. Both stones are fairly large with the Tourmalated Quartz measuring around 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches and the Vibrant Carnelian measuring in at about 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches. Both of these beauties are one of kind, as the swirls of color and shapes are unique only to these stones. The Carnelian with Natural made swirls of orange, red and white is so vibrant and stunning. The Quartz with loads of Tourmalated Needles just swirled through the crystal clear Quartz is absolutely gorgeous. Both of these babies will definitely make some heads turn.

It's Finally Here!

After many months of planning, creating, organizing, etc., we have finally opened our shop! Though there is only a few items, I will be adding new listings on a daily basis. We are very excited about our new venture and hope that with your help, we can make this a success. I am very happy to be offering 10% of our sales to charities. Hi, I'm Shelly :) I live in beautiful North Central Massachusetts. I moved here from Cape Cod Mass about 6 years ago and I absolutely love it! I have two sons who are 18 and 14 years old (WOW they grow up fast!) I am very easy going and just love to laugh!

I started making hand stamped jewelry a little over a year ago for family and friends and I just fell in LOVE with it! I started Charitable Creations in Aug of 2009. I didn't want to just sell jewelry, I wanted my jewelry to make a difference. So every month 10% of Charitable Creations total sales will be donated to a charity. There will be a different charity chosen for each month and the charity for that month will always be listed at the top of my announcements page on both my shops.
